My name is Rosemary. I am excited to join the team with Aspire Physiotherapy. I graduated from McGill University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy.
My initial goal upon graduation was to obtain as much experience as possible in physiotherapy. I heeded the advice of one of my professors: “You are only just beginning.” I began my career working at the Central Middlesex Hospital in the United Kingdom, an acute care general hospital. Since that time, I have lived and worked in different places including Saskatchewan, Montreal, and various locations throughout southwestern Ontario.
Over the years I have acquired clinical experience in the following settings: acute care general hospitals, private clinics, community care with The Arthritis Society, in-home physiotherapy, and geriatric rehabilitation in retirement and long-term care homes.
I have had good results treating MVA’s, WSIB injuries, and other related soft tissue injuries. I became a “hands-on” physiotherapist working with Gloria Gilbert at the Downtown Physiotherapy and Counseling Clinic in the 80’s.
I believe that communication is essential in all aspects of client-centered care. Empowering my clients to self-manage and understand their condition is of prime importance to achieving results with treatment.
Outside of work I enjoy gardening, travel, and meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. Politeness, respect, and honesty are strong Canadian traits which I admire the most and strive to “pay it forward.”
I look forward to helping you overcome and manage your condition so that you can return to enjoying your life to its fullest potential.
